01 / The concept

A glass pavilion
on the campus.

A restaurant and lounge for the ISOC campus in AlUla: a single-storey glass pavilion under a deep travertine roof, set at the corner of the site and reached on foot from the shaded parking courts. Inside, a timber ceiling raft hovers over a fluted timber bar and the dining tables, while a soft lounge takes the full height by the glass — warm, calm and open to the mountains.

My role

All studies, the concept and design development, the technical drawings and the BOQ (bills of quantities) for the restaurant, with its interiors, lighting and furniture, were prepared by Mohamed Bider for AMSY Group.

02 / Location

On the ISOC
campus, AlUla.

The campus lies in southern AlUla beside Prince Abdulmohsen Hospital, between the main road and the sandstone ridges. The restaurant takes the open corner of the compound, next to the parking courts and their shade canopies.
