01 / The concept

An office building
that shades its street.

A three-storey office building on a street corner in AlUla. Its two office floors open to the street through full-height glazing, and a dark bronze pergola wraps the corner at first-floor level, shading the ground-floor windows, the entrance steps and the pavement. A white lattice parapet crowns the cream-rendered walls, and on the roof a slatted pergola shelters a terrace for the people who work there.

My role

The building design — the corner plan, the office floors, the facades with their full-height glazing, the bronze pergola canopy, the lattice parapet and the roof terrace — the visualisations, the technical drawings and the BOQ (bills of quantities) were prepared by Mohamed Bider for AMSY Group.

02 / Location

In AlUla.

The building stands on a street corner in AlUla, where its canopy and terrace answer the long, hot afternoons: shade at street level, a shaded roof above.

05 / Visualisation

The building.

Around the corner: the canopy runs along both street fronts, the office floors are glazed from floor to ceiling, and the lattice parapet ties the facades together under the roof pergola.
