STREET FURNITURE
& PLANTERS

One family
for three souqs.
Benches, planters and recycling bins for the three Al Deera commercial centres in historic Riyadh, designed as one family: black powder-coated steel, warm hardwood slats and the gold Najdi triangle — the same motif that runs through the screens, lanterns and paving of the Al Deera Centres renewal. Coloured corner panels in terracotta, mint, gold and yellow tell the pieces apart, and they combine into rest pockets, planted edges and gathering nodes along the shop lanes.
All studies, the furniture design, technical drawings and the BOQ (bills of quantities) for the family were prepared by Mohamed Bider for AMSY Group — from the first catalogue renders to the pieces installed in the centres.

Studies.
How the pieces are made and how they gather: the backed bench, the planter and the recycling bin taken apart, and one rest node in plan. Select a study.
Materials
& colours.
Black powder-coated steel for every frame and box, solid hardwood for the seats, a brushed gold triangle on each piece and one coloured panel per planter — chosen to sit against the Najdi sandstone and grey granite of the centres.
The family.
Seven pieces from one kit of parts: three benches, the cube planter in its colourways and the three-stream recycling bin.

In the centres.
Placed in the lanes, colonnades and atria: runs of planters along the shopfronts, rest pockets of benches turned around a tree, and long benches that leave the shop doors clear.
Installed.
The pieces in place in the centres, photographed in July 2026 — the backed benches, the long benches, the planters in their four colours and the recycling bins.
Scope.
What the furniture package covers across the three centres.
Backed benches, long modular backless benches and plate benches in hardwood and black steel.
Cube and rectangular planters in three sizes with coloured corner panels, from tree planters to small boxes.
Three-stream recycling bins with canopy roofs and coloured slots.
Rest pockets, planted edges and gathering nodes placed along the lanes, colonnades and atria.
