ABAYA
STORE
متجر العبايات
An abaya that carries
heritage with grace.
A calm, warm boutique for abayas: travertine and oak, a backlit onyx wall, black steel rails and soft cove light, so the black of the abaya becomes the strongest thing in the room. Behind the sales floor sit the fitting rooms and a tailoring room, so every piece can be adjusted in the store.
Mohamed Bider designed the store for IMOTEP: the concept, the plan and 3D plan, the exterior and interior design, the fitting and sewing rooms, the lighting and material selection, the visualisations and the 360° experience.

One long sales floor behind a full glass front.
Fitting rooms beside the checkout.
Tailoring room, so every abaya can be adjusted in store.
The sales floor as an interactive view.
The plan.
The long, narrow unit is ordered from the street inward: the window display and showroom with its central table and lounge, then the checkout, and at the back the fitting rooms, the tailor and the store room.
Studies.
The store taken apart, walked through and lit: the exploded layers, the customer journey, the lighting, the 3D plan and the section. Select a study.
Materials
& colours.
Honed travertine floors and walls, a backlit amber onyx feature, rough basalt on the street pillar, natural oak shelving, brushed brass and black steel rails, cream bouclé seating — a quiet, warm frame for black fabric.
Step inside — 360°.
Stand on the sales floor: the onyx wall, the rails, the central table and the street through the glass door. Drag to look around.
The shopfront.
An authentic modern front: a basalt pillar with a grazing light, backlit letters and a clear, minimal glass wall framing the window display.
Inside.
Warm stone and oak, abayas on black rails, flowers on the central table, and the quiet rooms behind for fitting and tailoring.
